Interesting. It does seem like defenders are in the huddle particularly in the first half.

I have read this article and it really seems far fetched, IMO, that PC and company would miss something that simple and obvious. It also seems likely that our defense players, at some point, after practicing against our O alignment everyday would notice this and tell Pete "hey we knew exactly when our O is running and when they are passing." Furthermore, almost every OT in the league has their hand up on obvious passing downs. The article offers little actual evidence besides pictures where we don't get to see the defensive alignment.

The 3 pt stance vs 2 pt stance thing is a non starter. Doesn't matter what team you play for or what level of football, a 2 pt stance is gonna be a pass play (unless it's a delay draw designed to look like a pass play or something). If you line up in a two point stance you're telegraphing a pass play, there's no secret about it, never was.

And the author even said that play action passes came from 3 pt stances so at least when we are trying to disguise whether it be run or pass those plays are all from the same stance.

The split between G and C though, that's something a veteran will make a rookie pay for.

I'd like to see a top down view of the splits to confirm as camera angles can make things look worse (or better) than they really are.
Perhaps it looks wider if Ifedi is off the line a little (which could be a tell in itself if it's consistent).
That being said, rookies make all kinds of mistakes and with 3 of the 5 just completing their first year of play, there are a lot of mistakes yet to be made.

The only way to actually know is to look at EVERY split, not a handful of plays that the person writing the article chose to acknowledge. The hand placement is literally a ridiculously uneducated way to view football, three point and two point is as old as the forward pass, and ultimately means little in the way of "tipping" plays. Far more telling is formation tendacies, and play calling repetitive calls.

I would be more interested to find if every split lead to a group of plays specific to the split. IE always run right, center or left, always play action or roll out etc....

Could be Ifedi is lacking speed necessary to pull, or is slow out of a certain stance when to close to the center, also would be interesting to see if OTHER players in the NFL also do it. Ultimately, it's to fine of a lense to really judge one way or the other.
