If that's the only positive thing you can come up with, then we're in deep caca. The Packers are the 31st ranked pass defense and the Saints were ranked DFL against the pass and that stat didn't matter one iota, we still played horribly and lost, so your observation means absolutely nothing to me.
We still have had just one road win against a playoff quality opponent, and that's beginning to look more and more like an anomaly. We'll have to win at least one road game, more than likely two, if we are to get back to the SB and we play like chit on the road. I just don't see it happening.
Russell had a relatively good day yesterday, was protected relatively well, yet we barely pulled out a victory against one of the worst teams in the league in a game that meant nothing to them but had major implications for us. I hate to say it, but I get the sense that our window is closing. This is the worst Pete Carroll coached team since the rebuild. Time for some major changes or it's going to be another 3 years of this mediocrity before people finally come to the conclusion that the current formula doesn't work anymore.
RW just tied the record for most wins first 5 seasons and set the record as the only QB to win at least 10 games the first 5 seasons of his career. Congrats.
He and the offense is still having a hell of a time getting started most games. Including AZ where he had monster stats but only 3 points till late in the 3rd quarter at home in a must win game.
The defense folded late after being hung out to dry for 3 quarters and the Hawks lost the 2 seed.
Even yesterday the offense was dreadfully slow to get going, blowing a turnover on our 20 when Russ missed a wide open Graham.
Stats can be deceiving and in this instance they are. Our offense needs to be better this year in this NFC without our HOF safety or we are going home, maybe Saturday.
All that said though RD I think its premature to be pulling the ripcord on this season or group of players. We will see.
