I suppose this signing takes a little pressure off of finding an immediate replacement for Irvin.

I like this pick up. Low cost, low risk. Another pass rusher to add to the mix in obvious passing situations.

He has a lil something left, and as a situational pass rusher, it's not a bad signing.

Clemons may also get one last 2nd wind by returning to Seattle. He knew he wasn't going to win much in Jax to begin with, and coming here should add a bit more fuel to the fire. I would think that they'll still be plenty of new blood added to the DL as well this offseason.

If nothing else, I am hoping that he can inject some of that attitude and fire int the team that I believe they were missing since he left.
I also hope that he will be able to teach Frank Clark some techniques that his tool box is currently missing.
I'll never forget Sherm talking about Clem's control of the huddle, when people are acting goofy or unfocused, and the grumpy old man tells them to "Shut up!"
Getting his leadership back can only help.

Sounds like that is exactly what he's going to be doing.

I wonder if mentoring will become more strategic in the NFL with the practice limits of the CBA compared to years past.
The coaches don't get the same amount of time with the young players that they used to so signing a veteran to play limited amounts while mentoring younger players might be a way to help develop players quicker. It's always been a part of the game to some degree, but I'm thinking it might become a bigger part of team composition across the league.

Extremely team friendly deal. Absolutely a low risk, high reward situation that works out incredibly well either way for Seattle. Smart, intelligent move.
