Pittsburg

Pittsburg rolling into town. Lynch likely to be out. Rockin Rawls time to really make a statement. J Lane set to come back after his long recovery just in time to help out the pass D. Big Ben appears to be healthy and lighting it up. Super Bowl redemption game. LOB against Pitts D for the first time if I am not mistaken...

Just a little stoked for this one.

Better be careful what we wish for.Its past the statute of limitations for payback on SB XL. And Big Ben isn't coming to town to face the LOB cause it hasn't been the LOB much of this season. He and their offense present similar problems as AZ and Palmer.
I hope we kick their tail but too much on the line for both teams and too many weapons for Pittsburgh to shut them out.Our offense must produce. I think its going to be a war.

Our Offense hasn't been able to handle teams that blitz a lot, and the Steelers have some very creative pressure packages.
Our OL has to show that for the most part they can handle that type of a Defense.
A good counter would be a run game that the Defense has to worry about. If they shut that down, we will probably have a tough time of it on Sunday.
A solid run game will also keep Roethlisberger off the field for much of the time, too.
It's our identity and how we won games the last few years. Let's hope we can show that we have got back to what we do best.

I would also like to see RW tuck it and run more this Sunday. When he gets going early rushing, it throws a monkey wrench into opponents' defensive scheme, and help establishes momentum.

Rawls is showing some good upside and results, but you can count on the Steelers loading the box and forcing us to throw.
Down and distance.
Take what they give you.

I'm also stoked that Lane and Shead will be in there instead of Williams. CW has been the weak link for the LOB all year. CB should be a fairly high priority next offseason during the draft, after we spend early picks on OL (hopefully).

Not disagreeing, but PIT is pretty bad against the pass- if their blitz packages were so effective, I think that would be reflected in their passing defense, wouldn't it?

Yah, but most teams are at least marginally effective against blitzes, but we haven't shown that yet.
Maybe our OL has developed to the point we end up handling them well, or at least OK, but to date our efforts have fallen short on most occasions.

These old experienced QB's worry me. They are like old boxers that can sidestep here and there a few inches and deliver the goods. So far that is what has happened in our losses. We need a dose of heavy but contained pressure on Ben. Every-time we rush these type of QB's wildly the rush just goes by and they step up a fraction and make a big play. Ouch........Offense needs to keep the ball and hope rawls can do half of what he did against SF. Bevel mite be back in love with bubble screen.

Good post, upper. I worry about Worthlessburger. The quarterbacks of the teams we've beaten, with the possible exception of the Lions, of whom we barely beat, are close to being comical. Jimmy Clausen? Blaine Gabbert? Matt Cassel? Colin Krapperdick? We win Sunday and it will mark the first time this season that we beat a legitimate Pro Bowl quarterback..with apologies to Mathew Stafford.

Pittsburgh is exactly what the doctor ordered for this very sick Seahawk team. They will have to - for the first time all season - unite and play together for each other in order to beat this quality opponent. If the Hawks can put together a quality game on both offense and defense and beat the Stealers convincingly then this will be the medicine that might cure this ailing team and propel them to a playoff run.

Agreed a win against Pitt will be the start of a trend. Pitt is a quality opponent maybe the top team left on our schedual. I want to see a convincing win to fire the team up and prepare us for the rest of the season.

A. As the chief chef in charge, I'm thankful the Hawks don't play tomorrow. There is nothing I can do to mitigate the crazy and potty-mouth in me, so I'm glad. Last year I yelled out "FU|<|^ A right, b!+<hes" - my 81 year old Mommy was displeased. ;-)

B. If we win this game, we could be on to something. If we lose, we are pretty much a lost cause. I don't know (maybe it was the cancer), but I'm handling this mediocrity pretty well. ;-)

C. Just saw the oncologist. All is very well. Happy Thanksgiving, 12s.

Oh, yea, I remember that. They announced that they were doing away with the forums and everyone started posting porn. You would have thought that they could have anticipated that and did away with posting pics as soon as they made the announcement.

When the porn episode began, I was doing most of my viewing of that forum from work.
I really had to be careful about which threads to open.

This would make a statement to the league and pundits. To me any win is beautiful but I really would like to see Rapleburger get rag dolled into submission to the tune of 2 pick 6's and a strip fumble.
GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
