Special Teams have to be a lot better, as a whole, too.
Nice return by Lockett.

Our offense is atrocious. Our O-Line is run blocking ok, but pass blocking is terrible. Wilson is not looking very good at all, SD's defense seems to know exactly what Russell is going to do when he runs the Read-Option. Oh, and Russell. everyone in the stadium knows when you do your spin move to avoid a sack you will end up going to your left.
P.S. Oh, and Russell, when you are being sacked just EAT the BALL! That Grounding penalty could have been called a fumble very easily by some officials It also makes you look like a clueless rookie.
It is amazing how a weak O-Line can make an entire Offense IMPOTENT. It is going to be a long season if this keeps up.

Jeez at this rate I can see a 0-2 start on the road, esp when Rodgers does a Rivers improv! Offense is offensive, shows nothing. Deep dark concerns now.

The OL is the engine of the Offense.
Still a couple of weeks for the OL to improve, but they started behind the 8 ball with 2 missing pieces from last year and no quality replacements for this year. Later on some of the draft picks might be solid players, though.

You have to keep in mind that our best offensive weapon has yet to play a down in preseason and will be ready to roll once the bell rings.
But I share everyone's concerns about the offense, in particular, the OL. No offensive TD's in 3 games is not a good sign, and I don't care how unimportant these preseason games are. I don't like the trend I'm seeing.

Lynch did play, and yes, he was his old tenacious self, but even Beast-mode isn't going to help this offense if the O-Line can't pass block.

Like another poster said, start the game throwing screen passes.
I will add that you don't even have to tell the OL the play call - it will work itself out as they try to pass block.

Old but Slow wrote:Speaking of the special teams, the punt return by Lockett keeps getting rerun, so it is possible to see the blocking and positioning of his teammates. Really awesome. Special teams were not so special last season, but early indications are that they are much improved. Perhaps just knowing that you have a special return man makes a difference, but so does having some players back like Marsh and KPL. In the return, look for the early block by Coyle that helps spring the first move.
Anyone else notice Marsh running like a WR trying to catch up with Lockett on his punt return TD?
