Quality veteran center, played under Cable at Oakland. Let the defensive converts play guard for a while, bring in a solid vet to show him how it's done!

It's apparent that they aren't happy with the OL at the moment (big surprise there), so Satele could help.
I wonder who they might have to let go to make room for him if they do sign him?

Only making me more nervous about what I was already nervous about, that this Oline will be one of the worst in the NFL.

Wilson needs time and passing lane to be able to throw a pass to Jimmy Graham and the others.

All options are (and should) be on the table at this point concerning our OL.

This guy sounds solid - and has been healthy for his career.

If he signs, let's hope he doesn't get snake bit like other linemen who come here:)

(and, no, I don't believe in jinxes)

With Wisniewski signing in Jacksonville and beating out the incumbent, it seems that going cheap on the OL has put us in a bit of a bind.
It's tough replacing a Pro Bowl caliber center, but that's where we are today.
Maybe Satele can be a short term answer, if he does get signed.
Otherwise we have to hope the OL really comes together as a group that is greater than the sum of its parts.

We need a competent Center, one who is automatic and doesn't jump offsides or commit a False Start because he forgot the snap count and he has to be able to make the Line Calls (blocking assignments). All of which La Pew has struggled with for two years now and Novak is still learning the ropes. I like the idea of bringing in a stop gap guy so that Novak can learn the job from a veteran. Lapew needs to concentrate on his blocking and not getting penalized.

What we need is better OL play - at every position.
It's been obvious to most for a few years that the OL was the weak spot of our team, but with losing 3 starters from our Super Bowl win and not really replacing them with equivalents, it was a matter of time before it became critical.
I'm still hoping they can work together as a competent group and provide the productivity that is required.
Talent-wise, it doesn't look like much, but you never know how things will unfold.

Yes I have been harping on them getting more talent on the OL for a long time, hope Satele works out for us.
