http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/seah ... s-for-now/Nice visit, no signing.
At 33 and with very little cap room, it's unlikely.
If it were possible, I wouldn't mind.
Guy's a gamer and our SB window is still very much open.
This is the time to do these kinds of moves - especially given our OL now - if possible.

They had to kick the tires but we know they can't afford to bring him in on anything more than a "prove it" deal so he can reenter Free Agency next year. He isn't going to get close to the money he was looking for at this point.
If it comes down to it and he still doesn't have a deal when the season is approaching maybe he goes for the cheap one year deal over an under market multi year deal which is all he'd be able to get at this point with another team.

What Kal said. Unless there is a major injury to a G in the next week or two, Evan is going to have to settle for less than he already turned down. If it comes down to it and there is a one year prove it deal (like Bennett's first year), he just may want to take that year with a team that has a chance to go the distance. I doubt the stars align, but stranger things have come to pass. I was pleased with the pass-pro from week one of PS to week two.

He signed with the Broncos for $4.4 million + incentives.
He signed for less because he thinks they will go to the Super Bowl this year.
Apparently another team offered him $5.5 million.
According to PFT...

according to PFT... actually it was Drew Roseshaus that said (lied) about that. So, who was it Drew? It sure wasn't the Seahawks, so if you had a 5.5m offer on the table, knowing we had only table scraps for your client, why did he come here?

Its not a done deal with the Broncos. They have the tougher division, and Conference to get through than we do.

We'll never know for sure who offered the 5.5 million.
It might have been a standing offer from the Eagles for all we know.

That's it? I would have cut Kearse and used $2.5 million of his salary to make the signing of Mathis possible.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2 ... ot-better/Unless I am missing something about Kearse salary and its availability now for Cap maneuvers.

IMO, Mathis is sorely mistaken if he thinks the Broncos are going to reach the SB this year. They had their chances, and I think they'll amount to a 10 win team that will lose (again) in the divisional round (at best).

5.5 million is about what we have under the CAP so if the team that offered him that amount was us then every time we had to make a roster move because of injury another player would have had to be cut or traded.
That in essence is why there is no money to give to Kam, a team has to keep a certain amount of money/cap space in order to tweek the roster over the course of the season. Who knows if they have to go out and sign another LB or TE or even a kicker. We already had to cut McDaniel, fortunately we had a guy to take his place but from here on out it will get painful and our depth will suffer.

Mathis signed with Denver in a deal that will give him up to $4 million if he reaches all of his incentives.
So we might be in a tighter bind Salary Cap wise than you suggest.

They do?
Sorry, obi, but I don't see teams like the Raiders, Chargers, and Chiefs being on par with teams like the Cards and Rams, and I think that the Packers are better than any other AFC team, including the Pats.
Not that I think that the Broncos are going back to the SB. I simply feel that the NFC is a tougher conference than the AFC and that our division is tougher than the AFC West even considering the widely anticipated demise of the 49'ers.
