Back up for Lynch?

I just thought this was interesting (and am not giving validity to it) but Hershel Walker thinks he can still play in the NFL at 53. He stated in the interview that he ran a 4.3 last year. Man, I wish I could run once a 4.3 forty but to do it at 53? Wow.

A 4.3 40 at age 53, if true, is amazing. It would take me 4.3 seconds just to get out of my stance.
This story reminds me of one back in the 70's that featured a possible comeback of Jimmy Brown. Sports Illustrated had him on their cover wearing a Raider's uniform, but nothing came of it, either. IMO it's nothing more than fodder for a very slow time during the offseason. Nice read, though.
BTW welcome to the Shack, but you might want to consider a little more personalized handle.

I'd like to see it happen if just for the novelty of it but I doubt any team would take a chance on a roster spot.

No offense fellars, but this is just a dude thinking he's still got it when he's at minimum a decade past being able to contribute. If I had a dollar for every guy I know who think they would have been a contender if: the coach would have played me more than his son, I didn't get injured, I didn't have to quit sports to help raise my siblings etc.......... Dude is 53, sorry....I ain't buying it.

Apparently Dan Quinn of the Falcons just said bring it on, we've got room.
We'll see if it was just bluster or not on Walker's part.

DQ learned from PC that making moves like this are good PR moves and get the public interested in your club. The more interest, the more $$$$. It's nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Hilarious.
And Hershel might be wise to visit a doctor to see if any damage is just now beginning to show, 18 yrs after he last played.

So what about the 4.3 40 at age 53? Anyone in here believe that?

No, but anything in the 4.5 - 4.7 would be pretty amazing.

Quinn now says he was just joking about Walker and he likes the RBs he has.

I read somewhere that one of the rooks was having a good camp due to Michael, & Turbos injuries, he got a lot of carries & PC said he looked great. Anyone know who that was?
