if it wasn't in the 'real' newspaper, I would of thought this was a joke by someone. Evidently not! I know he a Lockett were close, but.... seems a little odd for me.

Not as odd if you were a Niner fan partying with the enemy!

This isn't odd. This is not professional wrestling... kayfabe doesn't exist. These guys may be bitter rivals on the field but being in the NFL puts you in a very small fraternity. A lot of these guys are friendly off the field. There is no reason why Kaepernick can't be friendly with Lockette and Chancellor. It's not like he was attending an event to promote the Seahawks. This is perfectly normal.

Matter of fact, this is exactly why Crabtree trying to start a fight with Sherman at Fitzgerald's charity event was such a douche move. Nothing to see here. Whatever else I think of Kaepernick I have no problem with this. Nor would I have a problem if Russell Wilson happened to be in SF and hung out with Patrick Willis for a few hours.

I'm reminded of a Looney Tunes cartoon I saw a long, long time ago where two rivals were chasing each other around and knocking each other silly for most of the episode then just as one character had the other by the throat with his fist cocked and about ready to deliver a knock out punch, the factory whistle blew, the two quit fighting, picked up their lunch pails, and punched the time clock, and cordially bid each other a fond farewell and see ya tomorrow.

It's not unusual at all. I think this happens a lot but doesn't get reported. It's not a sexy story that's going to grab headlines, tends to get drowned out except on slow news days. The restaurant was a very gracious host and Kaepernick responded like a true gentleman, made a nice gesture by donating the bottles of sparkly to a couple of other guests, undoubtedly Seahawk fans. Nice story, thanks for posting it.

A lot of players know others either through high school, College, special "all star" type games in high school or the game before they commit to which College as well as the pre draft games like the Senior Bowl, and others, not to mention the Combine and training for it.
It's also a very select fraternity where most players never make it even for a cup of coffee let alone get to play, so it's natural that some friendships and acquaintances form between players of opposing teams.

Keep your friends close and enemies closer. I am sure Bam Bam was just doing some reconnaissance. He was watching to see how Kaep passed those champagne bottles to that bachelorette party, seeing if his work with Warner was really paying off or not.

Glad to see Kaepernick taking pictures with folks up there, etc. That's the guy we see here locally. Hard worker, great guy.

Nice to see Chancellor hanging with him. He's one of the Hawks I respect the most.
