Did I really hear that right? Did Browner tell his teammates to break Sherman's arm? Lets see Lynch was fined 100,000 for not speaking to the media. So certainly Browner will be fined for encouraging injury to another player. Right?Or maybe suspended. I mean this is no shadowy bounty pool. The man said this on national TV.
Wow Sean Payton has to be scratching his head!!!!! Its amazing to me the media hasn't really picked up on the total hypocrisy of this story.

Remember, the pats are the NFL's darlings. They can do no wrong. I have a feeling that Browner will regret that statement once the Super Bowl is over.
That was just fuel for the fire.
Go Hawks!

This is football, targeting the opponents bandaids is a time honored tradition. If BB were still a Hawk and said that of Gronk none of us would have an issue with it.

Have to disagree Bob. Yes, we all know targeting an injury is something they probably do, but to state it publicly, especially after Bountygate??..I would have a problem with one of our guys saying it, it's pretty low class. It's pretty risky IMO. We will see if anything happens from the league.

It was obviously tongue in cheek and the LOB laughed it off. Lynch grabbing his weenie or stiff arming the media is just pranking too, as would be a bounty pool the total sum of which would not total a rookies game check.
But thats different I guess.
Just pointing out the obvious Patriots bias.

I hope the Offense of Pats are stupid enough to spend the energy to "Target the band aids".
Bet they won't . BB is just spewing.
Wish we still had Golden cause that dude would put Browner on his Azz some how.

I partly agree, partly disagree.
True, players do go after bandaids, always have, doesn't make it right, and I for one don't like it when I see our guys do it.
Having said that, if you listen to the ENTIRE interview, in context, you will realize that Browner was saying that as close as they are off the field, on the field that takes a backseat. He claimed that the LOB would do the same to him, and expect him to do no less.
I don't agree with what he said, but in it's correct context, he was NOT actually calling for injuries per se, he was describing the relentless nature of his playing style, and saying that his friends in the LOB would expect no less from him, or they would give him grief.

Well, the NFL gives him 5 yards to prove his point. We'll see if he uses that threat at the line of scrimmage to try to stop us.
And I will point out that I was one of a handful of fans that cheered his exit. I think he is (and was) one of the most penalized DB's this year, as well as when he was a Hawk. You beat him, by dancing and beating him out of the 5 yard zone and flying. He can only grab and hold at that point.
On this blog, we spent countless posts hating on the new 'rules'... But, a season later, we don't even bring up the 'new' NFL crackdown on our DB's because once Brandon was gone, it wasn't an issue anymore. It's just not how Maxie plays, is it?

I liked Browner's intensity, and I made the argument several times that his play usually offset some if not most of the penalties he got. But in the end, when Maxwell was clearly the better cover man, (and he is) and gets fewer penalties, AND is better against speedy guys, (remember how often Browner got beat deep?), I wasn't exactly what you would call sad at watching him go either.
For the record, again I am not defending what he said, but it has to be heard in it's context. What he said doesn't sound nearly as bad in its proper context...still doesn't sound good though. I definitely raised an eyebrow at it.
BTW Kam Chancellor after hearing it, basically said, "Well God bless his heart". Which is pretty funny if you've ever lived in the south, you know that, Bless his heart, is every nice ladies way of saying F*uck you! without saying it.

Maxwell > Browner
Beyond that, I think Baldwin and Kearse are gonna have solid games this Sunday, despite being covered by Revis and BB.
I'm liking our chances more and more as the game approaches.
I'm also grateful that we get to play in this SB in the first place, seeing how we were just a few minutes away from seeing our season end at The Clink, lol.
We're gonna be fine. Lynch will be able to run, and I can see our offense putting up 30+ against their D. They don't have the personnel to contain RW in the pocket, and even if they do, they will get burned by him on a couple of long throws.
Bottom line - defense wins championships. And ours is better. Gronk is a monster, but he won't end up killing us in this one.

I think those are the keys to the entire game as a matter of fact. What you just said there is going to be the difference in the game.

I just find it funny that as soon as Browner became a Patriot he became a top corner in the game ... um no. He's one of the most physical corners in the game but I was absolutely over watching him get torched by guys like TY Hilton. He can't stay with them. This is one matchup that I wish we had Paul Richardson or Percy Harvin for because he would be abused.

Browner has been penalized 14 times this year. Maxwell is far better that him and really does pretty well considering everything comes his way. I'm glad how it worked out. Browner is one corner that Baldwin can easily exploit on the Zs and rub routes and Lockette and Kearse can get deep on him.I think BB is in the game plan.
Revis is another matter RW better be sharp if he goes near him.

When B.B was a Seahawk he was called a thug for his physical play now that he is a Patriot he is no longer considered a "thug". The fact is, he was never a thug. I enjoyed his play while he was here but I hated the penalties he drew because once a receiver got past that 5 yards B.B. couldn't keep up with them.
Now, if E.T, Kam, and Richard Sherman still consider Browner as a member of the LOB then I will follow their lead. Sherman said he has no problem with what Brandon said that they would do the same. B.B. after all received a ring but knows he didn't earn it and wants one he earned.
The thing with Browner is that if he gets popped one more time for failing a urine test he will be out an entire year and Seattle just had to move on.

Seattle didn't have to move on. They moved on because Maxwell and Thurmond were flat out better. Even if they weren't as physical they weren't completely dominated by shifty receivers who could beat the jam on the line of scrimmage. That loss to the Colts last year is the perfect snapshot of why Browner is no longer on the Hawks. It's for that reason that it's a shame that Richardson got hurt and/or Harvin didn't work out. If Harvin would have fit in and they could get Harvin matched up with Browner it would have been a track meet.

It is pretty hilarious how, in just one short season, going from the Seahawks to the Patriots, Browner has apparently gone from being a decent corner who really probably ought to be a safety, and has to mug receivers to stay with them, to a "lock down" corner.
I cannot tell you how many times I've heard that term, lock down corner" applied to Browner this week.
I'm not knocking the guy, I liked him, loved his tenacity. But he does have trouble with speed receivers and always did, and he does get far too many penalties, it drove me absolutely CRAZY when he was here. Those two things keep him out of the lock down corner tier. He's a good corner, and no mistake about it, but lock down?
East coast bias strikes again.

I loved Browners intensity in Seattle, but the truth is he isn't a "great" corner, or even an above average one. I pointed it out when he was on the team, and I'm certainly not about to change that opinion because he is now wearing a Patriots jersey. Simply put, his footwork was bad, and his speed was average, Maxwell is a far better corner, the Pats, fans and the NFL media wants to say about it, Maxwell is the better corner, and that is abundantly clear to anyone capable of judging DB play.
Browner is one tough hombre, but elite? Or great? Nah, he is an average CB that gets a lot out of his size and strength.
