Goodell has maintained such a low profile as of late, that I nearly forget he's still the commish.

This latest issue with the Pats, the "investigation", is likely to further sour his reputation.

But money talks, and as long as the owners feel he's their best bet to keep the NFL machine rolling, he's likely safe for years to come.

That said, it would be refreshing to see the guy out of office. Not everyone is cut out for this gig, nor do they necessarily need to hold the position for a double digit tenure.

I had to laugh at Brady's comment about having his feelings hurt by the allegations. Also laugh worthy was Kraft's temper tantrum lashing out at the media and league for daring to question the Patriots integrity.GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!
These messages are intended for Goodell more than anyone else IMO.

HT, I agree with you BUT, sitting with the Rooney's who gave their lives for the good of the game vs the Pats owner is a bit different, to me. I agree with you and Sherm however it creates at best a bad appearance, at worse a conflict of interest.

Goodell is the worst Commish by far. Bounty gate, Rice, deflate gate, the Ref strike, targeting certain players, and most of all concussiongate. He and the league lied SO much on that one it was horrible. He has to go period.

Obi U know you are preaching to the choir on Goody Two Shoes. He is universally detested by fans and players. As for Tags and Rooney I'm well aware of Rooney's Godfather role with the league. Thats why it bothered me to see them schmoozing during the Super Bowl. Rooney got Tags hired. He got Goodell hired. Sorry its cronyism which is a big deal in a trillion dollar industry with an antitrust exemption.
I dont think a Commissioner should pick an owner to watch the game with, especially when his henchmen in stripes pull a Leavy. Sorry it wasn't a good look. And Kraft has a huge influence over Goody. Hes his best ally and literally coordinated his response to the various scandals that broke this year.
I'm really concerned about what might happen Sunday, especially the way this week has unfolded. I think Goody and the boys will do exactly what they want.
I hope a fair game is what they want.....

Really good points HT. My problem is the Commish, is elected by the owners. That's why NOT ONE of them was worth more than a bucket of feathers during the strikes.
