Sad news:

http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/1211 ... ies-age-49

That vid is worth watching even if you don't like sad sentiment for lines like "Konerko hits one off the top of the wall- his Mom thought it was a home run...".

Just watched that on ESPN & shed a tear. RIP Stuart, you'll always be as cool as the other side of the pillow.

RIP get your schwerve on in heaven bro....I'm choked up. SS was like an old friend, I used to watch ESPN more than any other channel.

If anyone hasn't heard his speech accepting the Jimmy V award you need to.

Wow.

I knew he had been absent from espn lately, but never heard about his cancer battle until I saw this today.

49? Way too young. But he packed a lot of living during his time here, and he has a lot to be proud of.

RIP, Stuart Scott, and Godspeed to his family.

Just watching the NFL Network reminisce about SS, it made me reflect: he was never my favorite, but he *was* like one of the old school "comfort blanket" type anchors, and I wish I had appreciated him more now (I didn't realize he was terminal).

RIP my man. Your effect was probably wider than you knew.
