I think it is a lack of preseason play and a lack of contact in practice. O-line seems like one of those positions that if you don't get time in the trenches during practice and the preseason, then you suddenly ramp up the contact during the regular season that is going to take some getting used to.

I couldn't agree more. Ironically the one player that saw no preseason snaps actually did decent and that was Connor Williams. I guess his knee recovery was on schedule from surgery. I would hope the o-line starts to gel better, but our Interior Guards are pretty sad. Anthony Bradford holding in the endzone, and was penalized a 2nd time didn't impress. Laken Tomlinson was horrific and was getting beat one on one by Zach Allen on multiple plays. I wouldn't expect much from Stone Forsythe considering he is a 3rd string Tackle. If we can improve this area of the offense, we should control the clock a little better as the season progresses.

O-line definitely a work in progress. Abe Lucas was looking good before the knee issue. Sad to see a talent like Abe having problems so young. If his knew were healthy, he seems great.

Good point. Teams aren't playing their starters in the preseason nearly as much as they used to, undoubtedly due to the longer season and playoff schedule. It used to be that you saw the starters for at least the first drive of every preseason game...and there used to be 6 of them...and at least the entire first quarter in the 2nd to last game, giving them the final game off.

I also think that roster turnover and injuries play a role, that players aren't as familiar with each other as they used to be.

Whatever the reason, there's little doubt that the quality of football has suffered in these early season games.

Just saw a stat that surprised me, while I was over all very happy with our defense as a whole I did think our pass rush was an area for some improvement, but...

The #Seahawks had the HIGHEST percentage pass rush snaps with a pressure at 44.9%, according to The 33rd Team.

Sacks come in bunches, if we keep getting that kind of pressure up front we're gonna wind up with bunches of those bunches.

Credit Bo Nix, because if he wasn't a great athlete who could scramble we would have had more sacks. It's great to see our defensive scheme is sending pressure from all over the place, and generating good results. Next week will be interesting as we are going up against more of a pocket passer.

Not only that, but even though we were applying consistent pressure throughout the game, we did it without giving up big plays. We gave up just 3 plays over 20 yards, the longest being a 25-yard pass reception. As a rule, defenses have to sacrifice something in order to bring that kind of pressure and end up paying a price.
