Jimmy G this and Jimmy G that . If Seattle goes out and gets the guy tomorrow if he’s released and starts him the locker room is done for . If they pick him up after he’s released and make him compete that’s another thing . And once more , what’s so appealing about a guy of slight stature and arm strength and had 20 TDs and 12 picks . He’s described as accurate and his 68.5% accuracy is identical to Geno last year . I have a hard time seeing why Seattle would want to even do it . And he’s not coming cheap either . Geno would likely have to win the super bowl to hit his 5 million bonus and I bet we would have to pay that much to kick the tires on Garrapolo and see if his shoulder holds up enough to throw 30 yards .

I have news for you fans in denial . Geno didn’t win by default . It was more about in practice and the 13 quarters then this year but Pete thinks he can win enough to get to the postseason with Geno with the parts around him . One being Dk who they made sure to sign . So do I . Said after the 98 yards vs the rams cold it’s a different guy . Pete has to win and he knows it . If he’s 5-6 wins he’s gone . I’m giving him this year only myself . Win or go home .

And if we are wrong and we will learn a lot Sept 12 that’s when the quick hook comes out and you throw it to Lock and Eason and cut Geno if he throws a tantrum . I don’t think he would . But I could see a career revival such as a Ryan Tannehill type role . But I’ve put it out there long ago , caught crap every day in here , now he’s gonna start and Pete and I are still just wrong cause Geno sucks

Bring it on .

Garoppolo, if we pick him up, wouldn't start right away. It would take him several weeks to get used to the offense, and if we're winning, Pete likely won't make a QB change. At this point, I really don't care if we bring him in or not as he's not going to cost us any draft capital and so long as we don't sign him to a long term contract, of which I doubt that any team would offer him a very lucrative deal, we can afford the cap hit. We don't have a team in place to challenge for a championship anyway, so who cares.

As far as Geno earning his starting spot due to his 13 quarter, 1-2 record as a starter last season, that's pure nonsense. If Pete was anywhere near as impressed with his performance as you were, he would have signed him much earlier than he did, for a higher sum than we offered, and for a longer duration than the one-year, standard backup QB contract that he signed him to this spring. The fact is that after the Russell trade, there wasn't anyone available, either in the draft or free agency, that could fill the void and Geno had a familiarity with both the system and our players and coaches. After Lock came down with Covid, it was a foregone conclusion that Geno was going to be the starter. He won the job because there was no one else for him to compete with. He certainly didn't win it by his overwhelming performance in the preseason.

Geno Smith sucks. The fact we have him as a starting QB just shows how much we have fallen. I wouldn't trust you to pick talent for a peewee football team. Your eye for talent is about as clear as sunblind man in the desert seeing mirages.
