That's a good point. Tebow was/is a bit of a blockhead. Back when they used to post Wonderlic scores, Tebow scored a 22, which is well below the average for a quarterback.
They used to have a formula called the 26-27-60 rule that predicted success at the NFL level: If a quarterback scored 26 or higher on the Wonderlic, starts at least 27 games in college, and completes 60% of their passes, they stand a good chance of succeeding at the next level.
QBs that have passed this rule: Sam Bradford, Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning, Drew Brees, Tony Romo, Matt Schaub, Kyle Orton, Kevin Kolb, Matt Ryan, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Matt Stafford.
QBs who did not pass this rule: Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, David Carr, Heath Shuler, Jimmy Clausen, Jay Cutler, Joey Harrington, Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Tim Tebow, Alex Smith (1 game short), Jeff George, and Vince Young.
Exceptions: Brett Favre (22 Wonderlic), McNabb (14 Wonderlic), Matt Leinart - who at USC played over 30 games, 35 Wonderlic, and threw over 63% all three years. Aaron Rodgers averaged 63.8 completion percentage, 35 Wonderlic, and 26 games (1 game short). Ben Roethlisberger scored a 25 on the Wonderlic (1 point short) but easily had the number of games and high completion %. Josh Freeman met all the rules except completion % at KSU (59.1%) - so close.

Just a refresher on the Wonderlic: 50 is perfect. The highest score ever was Ryan Fitzpatrick, a Harvard grad, with a 48. Eli Manning scored a 39. Andrew Luck 37, Drew Bledsoe 36, Tom Brady 33, Peyton Manning 28. On the lower end, JaMarcus Russell scored a 24, Cam Newton 21, Jake Locker 20. Vince Young holds the record for the lowest score when he pegged a 6, but in Young's defense, they didn't test players in Terry Bradshaw's day. And in case you are wondering, Russell Wilson scored a 28.
