It is not responsible for loss of talent and personnel changes that followed. In and of itself it was just a super bowl title that was squandered. Unless you define a dynasty as winning more than one Super Bowl in close together , a pr seasons, that is.

Handing the ball to Russ to throw over the middle from the 1 with everyone jammed in there . The SI article made plain that even before that players thought Russ got different treatment . Many speculated PC wanted Russ to win MVP instead of Beast. And anyone tired of Pete’s happy talk whistling in the graveyard now don’t rewind his all the play either . “We wanted to waste a play there .” Huh? PC lost by going away from what he does and says he wants to do with a hall of fame back at the ready averaging 5 yards a pop. The trip to Hawaii to mend things arranged by Russ was described as a-joke by players , a pr stunt . From the time Russ was drafted 11-5 lost by a whisker in Atlanta in the divisional. Win Super Bowl. Lose Super Bowl in the most horrific fashion ever . Since then 3-5 in the postseason and surely missing our second postseason in the last 4 years . Yeah it killed a dynasty. We had a window to be the 80s 90s cowboys and win 2 or 3 .
Agreed. Had we won back-to-back Lombardis, it would have put us in a company that only a handful of teams have ever done in the SB era: 67-68 Packers, 73-74 Dolphins, 79-80 Steelers, 89-90 49'ers, 93-94 Cowboys, 98-99 Broncos. and of course, this century's Patriots. A lot of really good teams, including the Giants, Redskins, and Raiders, never won back-to-back titles. It's an opportunity that some of us Seahawk fans will likely never see again in our lifetimes.
