In previous seasons when we fielded playoff quality teams, this would have been almost a gimme. Washington has a losing record, no franchise type quarterback, and a suspect defense that is minus their top pass rusher (Chase Young).
But this game? The Redskins (oops! Hand over mouth) have won their last two games in a row, including a victory over the mighty Tampa Bay Bucs. What's our most notable win? The season opener against the Colts.
My take is that we lose this game by 7.

Prove me wrong hawks !

More than I want to see the team finish the season showing some fight and some grit. There’s got to be some pride left on this team to not go out like chumps. I’d more than happy just to see them playing good football again even if it means close losses and missing the playoffs.

Sure, maybe Waldron could call a better game, but when I see this team I don't think they can playcall their way to a successful offense. Outside of DK and Lockett (and maybe Disley or Lewis), I'd be okay with complete turnover on the offense.

Without controlling that, no game plan or scheme will consistently be effective and other players at skill positions won't be able to produce.
It's a pretty simple philosophy, but it's true.
Hawktawk wrote:Line schmein. Our D line actually got pressure a few times and Heineken made some amazing escapes to throw passes accurately kind of like Russ used to do.They were missing their top 2 pass rushers and finished the game on their 4th center of the year.
And on offense our stretch of 5 consecutive 3 and outs was the worst since SEAHAWKS WEEK FOUR when a presumably healthy Russ did the same thing vs the 9ers in the first half. Then he went off in the 4th quarter of that game to win it 28-21 with the same line. The finger isn't right and unlike you RD, Russ and we better hope it still IS injured ( I think he is)or he's throwing the ball like Cam Newton the rest of his short career. He's losing his grip on the ball on the wild misses, obviously. The rest of the time its spinning fine. He was standing up just fine when he overthrew Everett by a yard on a play that may not have picked up the first anyway. Missed him again 6 feet wide right. Threw it to nobody. DK chucked his defender, knocked him on his butt and was standing all alone in the slot and Russ goes out of bounds the other way, doesn't even look at his bad ass wideout at all after the snap![]()

. Then he throws it 2 yards out of bounds to DK with another receiver open. He's not reading the field which has nothing to do with the finger and that started long before the finger . The end of game drive that was only possible due to the WTF having no kicker was nice but the critical 2 point????

Straight drop with no run option and Russ sails a no chance ball into triple coverage with 2 far more open options.
His game reminds me kind of like Hass at the end lately. Very poor play early in games then a flurry of yards and points late vs prevent to make the score appear closer than it was. Hasses last ever start as a Hawk vs Chicago in the divisional in 2010 comes to mind. But it was a loser strategy and this is now. We will rue not granting Russell his wishes and making a mega deal before the season. His value is dropping like a stone.
Hawktawk wrote:Knox would have benched Russ score notwithstanding . Somethings wrong . So many bad passes in critical moments . I give him credit for making it close but he threw the 2 point into triple coverage to Freddie Swain with open receivers elsewhere . I feel bad for our defense .

The TOP is what stands out for me. It's week after week. Going into this game they were dead last in the league with a TOP of 25:18. The next worse is Jacksonville and they are a full 2 minutes above the Seahawks mark (27:22). The best in the league is the Ravens at 32:52.
Today the Seahawk's TOP was 19:38. That is just gross. For how good I felt about a new OC coming in this year and really turning this offense around, I feel equally as horrible about it now. The offseason drama took its toll on this team, RW3 isn't the same, the O-line appears to be the same as always, there is no run game to speak of (averaging about 95 yards a game but on a steady decline the last 4 games), and the offense once again seems predicated on RW3 breaking the pocket and hitting an off script play downfield. Same old, same old.
Their average in the last 3 games is 19:36, dead last. The next worst is the Rams at 24:32. The WFT is 1st at 38:53.
