A friend of mine with a pretty fair record of predicting trades was thinking a few weeks ago that the Hawks might snare Jadeveon Clowney. Trade rumors are beginning to circulate:

Obviously we have a need for an edge rusher, but I personally don't believe it will happen. It seems counter productive to trade Frank Clark because we were unwilling to pay him then take on a contract that's bound to exceed Clark's and have to give up some high draft picks/players.
Comments?
The friend of mine that I occasionally refer to is a former poster that some of you might recognize from the old PI forum, Bird Droppings. Ten years ago, he called our trade with the Bills for Beast about a month before it happened. He used to be in the radio broadcast business for decades, and is friends with Brock Huard. We email amongst 5 or 6 other friends of his, including Huard, quite a bit during the season, and occasionally in the offseason. I've gone to several Hawks home games with him. The man knows his chit.
A few weeks ago, he was stricken with a major stroke, and last I heard, is in a nursing home going through therapy. I've thought about visiting him, but he lives in Port Townsend, a long hike from where I live. If he does get discharged, I'll probably try to get over there and pay him a visit. He's a long time season ticket holder, but I'm afraid he might have attended his last Seahawk game.
Anyhow, I just wanted to give some props to him and for those of you that knew him, an update on his status.
