I think the average in the past 10 years is 6 or 7 per season and you really can't count Kubiak as no way was he on the hot seat, so we're actually pretty close to plan. But what is surprising is how many are being let go after just one or two seasons.
I think I heard that the Niners are on the hook for $18M for head coaches and they haven't even signed a new one yet. Kelly is likely heading back to the colleges so he's going to pocket his big contract.

I'm came away more impressed with Kelly than before he got hired.
HIs guys never quit on him, and he received good praise from his players. He was also complimentary and apologetic. I'm not sure what kind of future he has in the NFL, but his character seems to be intact under less than ideal circumstances.
