Thanks, guys. My buddy and his wife were unable to make it as their daughter suddenly got sick Saturday morning, but I still had a great time hanging with a lot of fantastic 12's and we were treated well by the locals.
Transportation around the stadium area is relatively decent, but not a lot of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity . I can certainly see why the Niners had to move out of SF. The downtown area, which would have been the preferred location, is simply not viable from a real estate perspective unless they plopped it in a park or something, and south SF is a ghetto. Makes me thankful that we were able to get our stadiums in where they are and built when we did. The south bay area is far superior to anything they could have come up with in SF.
The Niners are in some serious trouble, both on the field and in their financial expectations. People are not coming to the games like they had hoped. I would guess that there was maybe 35,000 for the game yesterday, and half of those were Hawk fans. Complaints have surfaced about the stadium, that one side is exposed to some pretty intense sun in the early fall. No one likes the product on the field or has any hope for the future, the Kaepernick controversy has taken it's toll, there is no "face of the franchise", no large murals of current all pro players or coaches like most franchises usually have around their stadium, the NFL itself seems to have peaked, and so on. They have a lot of competition with the Raiders, Warriors, and Giants all doing well at least on the field/court. All the promotional stuff was from 30 years ago in the Montana-Bill Walsh era, a time that is not very fresh in the minds of the millennials they're going to need to attract if they are to succeed, and even though they are having horrible season, I expected a lot more product loyalty than I saw. It's a pitiful situation, very similar to what the Rams are going through down in LA. What the hell is going on with pro football in this state? They might as well take all 4 CA teams and ship them off to Europe and start a new division.
Here's a good article that documents their woes if you're interested in reading it:

http://www.sbnation.com/2017/1/2/141449 ... -nice-niceKaepernick is a much different quarterback than he was in his first two years. He threw some pretty nice balls, but there's a world of difference in his running and scrambling ability which is what made him such a feared player. It's hard to see him staying. I saw ZERO #7 Niners jerseys in the 4 days I was here. Sales of his jersey must be much higher nation wide than it is around here and/or people are too embarrassed to wear them.
