Pre-registering an excuse in case we tank as so many expect us to?....Just kidding.

The injury to Walker highlights once again my reluctance to burn high draft picks on running backs: They are more subject to injury than other positions.
Hernias and groins are good examples. They occur when the lower body is subject to sharp and unexpected lateral moves, with the torso going one direction, the legs going another, like when a running back makes sharp cuts, changes of direction, and contorting their body to avoid taking direct hits. As we all remember, Beast had a hernia he had to deal with, too.
I thought that with Walker's body type, being shaped more like a fire hydrant than a light pole, that he might not be as subject to injury as your garden variety running back, but I guess I was wrong.
Dallas and Homer are good running backs. They are both reliable receivers, better blockers than either Penny or Walker and neither of them has lost a fumble in their career. Plus they have experience in Waldron's system. Besides, we probably weren't going to see a lot of Walker early in the season anyway, especially the way Homer and Dallas have looked.
