They need the money to extend Bosa but are not finding takers for him at his current contract just coming off the shoulder thing. I think we're interested but not likely to do anything until/unless he's released. I think that "by the end of the month" time frame is when they are likely to release him if he hasn't been traded.

I don't think the 49ers would want to trade him within the division, but high picks could tempt them.
Another thing going against trading for him is his salary for this year reported to be at $24M. So it would seem most parties would want to wait until he's cut to make an offer as the risk with
a QB coming off of shoulder surgery and his salary would be a pretty big gamble. Not to mention trade compensation.

Bobs nailed it . Trading for Jimmy helps their cap situation so why the hell do it ? Signing him if he’s released gets a guy with 20 TDs , 12 picks ( approx 1.8 TD to pick ratio ) a very mediocre arm and coming off right shoulder surgery just now able to begin throwing. Im sure Seattle has done their homework on the guy but it seems to me when Seattle can go 5 wide with DK, Lockett , Swain , eskridge and Fant and all 5 can take the top off why have a dink and dunk guy behind center ? If he coujd throw deep he would be a champion already .

His completion # was exactly Geno 2021 , the TD to int % was far worse . My bet is that they don’t do it . But if they do it’s just further evidence they are going to do all they can to be successful this year .

The reports said he's in consideration by our FO.
If true, that means they aren't hitching their wagon to either of our current QBs and are looking to upgrade.
Why might they trade? So other teams don't get him.
I hope we just take our lumps with the current QBs, but our history is we will panic and give up too much for someone once the wheels fall off on Offense.

I agree. This is exactly why you want to think very long and hard whenever there's a potential trade within your division. What's in it for the Niners? Is what we might receive from them worth the pain and suffering they'd avoid should we not make this deal? Why make their job any easier? Let them stew in their own broth.
